Job Description

A position has arisen is for a full time (part time can be considered) small animal vet to join an independent friendly small animal practice in Weston-Super-Mare. You will be joining a team of 3 vets, 4 RVN’s, 1 ACA and reception/account staff.

The practice is fully kitted out with all the usual toys including: digital x-ray, ultrasound machine, well equipped in house lab. They also have orthopaedic, ultra sonographer and ophthalmologist specialist visiting the practice. They offer laparoscopic procedures (bitch spay, cryptorchid etc).

The practice share OOH with 2 other local independent practices and the OOH rota would be every other Monday night on call, 1 in 6 Friday night on call and 1 in 20 weekends on call from 5pm Saturday to 8.30 am Monday morning. As the new candidate you will work 3.5days per week but when one of the other vets are on holiday, you will work 5 days a week. 1 in 3 Saturdays 8.30-5pm (it equates to a full-time position 4 days a week)

There is an advanced practitioner in small animal surgery in the practice so plenty of support is available.

We are looking for a good all-round GP Vet, and you will be covering all routine first opinion small animal work with consults and ops where required. You must be able to cover the basic surgeries.
