Clinical Nursing Manager, FT or PT, Maternity Cover 6 Months based in Somerset (KH/14221)

Our client is a large progressive mixed practice set in the heart of Somerset. Beautiful rural purpose built practice, home to 12 vets, 6 nurses and 1 SVN. Fully mixed nursing role including small animal consulting, surgery, hospitalisation and large animal support. Equipped with digital x-ray, dental suite, multi parameter monitoring and endoscopy.
 
An exciting opportunity to head an experienced team of nurses with a wide variety of interests for a minimum of 6 months maternity cover. This is a vitally important position of responsibility within the practice and is pivotal to the cohesive running of the small animal clinical area and large animal unit. This role includes the organisation of the team and their duties to cover operational needs as well as managing holiday cover and approving time sheets. You will also act as a liaison between the nursing team and directors, attending Team Leader meetings and holding regular nurse meetings with the team. You will be expected to provide positive encouragement to team members, help with problems and promote strategies for adherence to practice regulations and performance goals. Healthy on call rota of 1:10 weekends and no OOH phones.
 
You must be a registered veterinary nurse with proven leadership, people and management skills. We are looking for someone to motivate and nurture our nursing team and maintain our high standards of clinical and customer care. Successful candidates must have strong oral and written communication skills and be highly organised. CPD is encouraged and funded.
