Job Description

Our clients, based in Barnsley, are looking for an excellent Registered Veterinary Nurse to complement their fantastic team of Vets and Nurses.

All of their nurses cover the different areas of nursing, which changes daily so one day they may be on inpatients and the following on theatre for example, but this is flexible and often tailored to what the nurses feel like doing that day, foregrounding their friendly and accommodation environment.

• Start Date: ASAP- Ongoing

• Full time

• 7.5 hours per day

• Monday to Friday Opening Hours: 7.30am – 8pm (shifts in between)

• 1 weekend per month (1:4 – 8am – 5pm) this is paid extra to their salary at roughly £115 per day

• Branch work (having a driving license is essential)

• On-call: Nurses take the phone and checks on any inpatients they have roughly twice through the night, finishes at 7.30am (practice flat on-site to use if they wish, but candidate does not have to stay if they do not wish to)

• On-call is paid extra to their salary at £40 Mon – Thurs and £70 Sat and Sun (roughly twice a month, and the following day you won’t work until 12.30pm / If nurses do not wish to be paid they can take it as extra holiday time)

• 20 days holiday + Bank Holidays

• CPD: there is no set budget, but the practice is very flexible and usually agrees if it is of benefit to the staff member and practice

• Pension (through company called Now Pensions)

• Competitive salary – commensurate with experience

• All applicants must be RCVS Registered
